With 19 motorcycle accidents reported so far in 2022, Sharjah Police has warned delivery riders to strictly follow the traffic rules. Some incidents among these took place as a result of the pressure they faced to deliver orders on time. The police reported no fatalities in the accidents, but 13 of them were hospitalized with injuries.

According to Maj Omar Al Aqroubi, director of traffic coordination at Sharjah Police, riders' inattention, like abrupt lane changes, is what leads to most accidents. The rider in one of the deadly accidents that occurred last year was inattentive and missed noticing a car stopped on the road. In 2021, a distracted rider struck a car that had stopped around 500 meters away and died on the spot.

Riders should ensure that they have motor insurance in Dubai and other cities. In the context of an accident, having car insurance in Dubai and other cities offers you complete financial protection against third-party liability claims.

Maj Al Aqroubi emphasized that motorcyclists are not allowed to use the fast lane on major roads. One of the strict rules that must be followed when riding a motorcycle is not to drive in the left lane, yet many riders frequently breach this law, he claimed. He urged bikers to follow traffic laws and safety precautions, including wearing helmets, noticing indicators, and routinely making sure their motorbikes are in good working condition.

Muhammad Ramzan, a 26-year-old delivery driver from Pakistan who has been in the industry for five years and averages 20 orders per day, said, "It feels as if we don’t have the right to be on the road like them," said Muhammad Ramzan, 26, from Pakistan, who has been in the delivery business for five years and takes an average of 20 orders a day. We sometimes make mistakes on the road, but it's because we are pushed to move along in a zigzag course when other cars do not give way. According to Mr. Ramzan, car drivers may also get distracted while driving. Once, he was struck from behind by a car whose driver was talking on his cell phone.

Drivers should make sure to keep an eye out for delivery riders on the roads, according to Saad Shoaib, who runs a business in Sharjah that manages delivery riders. He mentioned that they don't look out for riders in their surrounding blind spots. He said that his business assists riders in obtaining driving licenses and visas. Additionally, the organization makes sure its riders receive safety training and equips them with helmets. He claimed that riders get fines for parking outside of restaurants. Many restaurants lack designated parking spaces for delivery persons, and some buildings do not permit them into their motor parks.

253 injuries and 31 fatalities among bikers were reported in Dubai in the last year. According to the police, 22 of those killed were at fault for the accidents. 46 accidents in the first two months of this year resulted in three fatalities and 47 injuries. According to Dubai Police, failing to stop at red lights, unexpected swerving, and failure to maintain a safe distance were the primary causes of the incidents.
