Documents Required For The Certificate

• VC (Vehicle Clearance Certificate)/Transfer of ownership certificate/vehicle possession certificate/Ownership certificate/possession transfer certificate

• Emirates ID (including a copy)

• Passport (in case the applicant is not a UAE resident)

• The RTA must get the old vehicle plate. You must file a police complaint if it is stolen or damaged

• Inspection certificate of the vehicle (in case the license has expired or it isn't licensed)

• NOC or mortgage clearance certificate from the bank (in case the vehicle was leased)

• Vehicle insurance documents

• Name on the future owner's passport (in case the vehicle is exported to another nation)

• Passport copy (in case overseas export is to be done)

• Applicants' traffic file (or original passport in the absence of a traffic file)

• Light vehicles: AED 100

• Light mechanical equipment: AED 100

• Heavy mechanical equipment: AED 100

• Buses with a seating capacity of 26+ passengers: AED 100

• For vehicles weighing between 3 and 12 tons, the rate is: AED 100

• Vehicles weighing over 12 tons: AED 100 

• Bus with a seating capacity of 14–26 passengers: AED 50

• Motorcycles: AED 100

• Charges for an export number plate in Dubai: AED 70 

• Knowledge and innovation fee: AED 20 

How To Apply?

1. RTA Website

• Log in to the RTA website.

• Find the "Vehicle export certificate Dubai" application portal from the RTA services.

• Click on the link there where you can apply for this service.

• A new page will open up where you may submit your application.

• Fill out the relevant information in the designated spaces and attach all the required documents.

• Payment of the knowledge and innovation fee in addition to the applicable fee for your vehicle export certificate.

• Now, you will be allotted to a Customer Happiness Center, where you may pick up your generated certificate.

• Don't forget to bring your current license plate when you visit there. 

2. Dubai Drive Application (an RTA Smart App)

• Install the Dubai Drive app and log in.

• Fill out the application and attach the necessary files.

• Make payments per the type of your vehicle.

• Submit your application.

• Now, you will be allotted to a Customer Happiness Center, where you may pick up your generated certificate.

• Don't forget to bring your old license plate when you visit there. 

3. Customer Happiness Centers and other Service Providers

• Go to one of the customer happiness service centers in Dubai with all the required documents.

• Get the application form, fill it out by attaching all important documents, and submit an old car license plate.

• Your certificate will be sent after complete verification.

• Pay the additional fee to get the export number plate.

4. Call Centers

• Contact RTA's customer care team by dialing 8009090.

• Submit a formal request along with your plate number and traffic file number.

• Use a credit or debit card to pay the mandatory application fee.

• Now, you will be allotted to a Customer Happiness Center, where you may pick up your generated certificate.

• Don't forget to bring your current license plate when you visit there.

• Get an export number plate. 

How Can a Lost Dubai Vehicle Export Certificate be Replaced?

Don't worry! You can replace the lost one with another within a few hours. You can use the above-mentioned platforms, which are both online and offline. The necessary documents will be the same as before. So, it's a matter of a couple of hours.
